This summer, our Health & Street Fair was a hit! 🎉 Joined by other community partners and local organizations, neighbors of all ages came together for Double Dutch, fun games, and fair-time activities. With local vendors, live music, and wellness resources, the day was all about community, connection, and fun!
This summer, Bridgefield Civic League hosted an engaging Summer Workshop for youth in our community, combining nutrition education, fun activities, and civic engagement. Participants learned about healthy eating, prepared meals inspired by global flavors, and explored interactive discussions about culture and wellness.
This summer, our Line Dancing sessions brought the community together for a fun and energetic way to stay active! Participants laced up their boots and hit the floor with Boots on the Ground, enjoying a mix of music, movement, and laughter. It was a great form of exercise—dancing, sweating, and having a blast—all while connecting with neighbors and building community spirit.
Bridgefield Civic League partnered with City Council member Kevin Riley and Cutz by Yannie mobile site to give a touch of “Hope for HUMANITY “ back to school event. The movie night was to encourage our community to fellowship with each other after a long year of COVID-19
As an organization founded by Black working mothers within the Wakefield community. It is with great importance and honor that we have a yearly program to honor the hard work of all those who came before us, who fought for freedom, liberation and a better tomorrow.
As an organization, we believe in honoring the elder members of our community. The ones who deserve the most yet are given the least. Giving them the respect that they so justly deserve. This is why we have made it our duty to honor our community members with a yearly senior dinner.
We invited the whole community to get to. know each other and learn about health awareness, safety, voters registration, and honoring our youth from the 47 pct Cadets for outstanding volunteer work.
This was a great opportunity to encourage our children in the community to make them effective learners.
This contest was an opportunity to support our youth to pay them pay for books or educational purpose.
Bridgefield Civic League, Inc. partnered with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Bronx Alumnae Chapter and TRU 31 to present "World AIDS Day". This partnership was a great success to unite our community and suport the people living with HIV and remember the people who have died. these programs was supported with testing on-site, public speakers, comfortable conversation about ending stigmas, protecting yourself, ending isolation and learning the facts.
In cooperation with City Council member Kevin Reliy and Kuts by Yannie on August 12, 2021 we ran a back to school drive providing local families within the area with book bags, school supplies, new coats, oral hygiene supplies, haircuts, pizza and a screening of Space Jam.
